About VBIT :
VBIT is the place where opportunities are provided for students to realize their ambitions, where new ideas are born, where innovative projects materialize, and where students excel in learning.
“Outstanding” is what our students rate our efforts in nurturing versatile leadership. In VBIT, our faculty members go beyond teaching, they redefine excellence.
Founded in 2004 by highly qualified people, Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology emerged as a hub for engineering excellence. At VBIT, students will discover engineering in a different light. Students will experience an engineering education that is on par with the industry requirement.
The sprawling 10.2 acre campus has state-of-the-art teaching facilities to train students in emerging technologies. The college is located about 18 kms from Uppal on the Warangal Highway.
VBIT has 60 state-of-the-art laboratories on the campus. The collection in the library, housed in a spacious 2100 sq.m block include more than 23401 volumes covering different engineering streams. As many as 130 (hard copy) and 1650 (soft copy) National and International journals are provided for the students. The institute has imported Unified Digital Library from Tidal Data Technology Ltd., USA that consists of 5000+ Video Lectures from MIT, Stanford, IIT and IISc. Apart from that, the collection of various CD published by SONET. Students and faculty have instant access to Indian and foreign journals in their branches of specialization through Internet.
The Institute has established its exclusive research center in the year 2010 with a view to promoting research activity in all the departments and spreading research culture among its staff members and students. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) recognized VBIT as a Research Center in the year 2011. There are two major research projects (~ 65 lakhs) sponsored by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) which are getting implemented in the research center. Three fulltime Junior Research Fellows (JRF) are pursuing their Ph.D. work under these projects. Recognizing the research potential of the institute, ISRO has installed a Mini Boundary Layer Mast (MBLM) in the college premises under its PRWONAM programme at a cost of ~ 25 lakhs. This has facilitated the staff members and students to carry out standard research. Some of the students of B. Tech. and M. Tech. courses have taken up projects based on MBLM data (hardware and software).
Under the umbrella of this centralized R & D center, Centers of Excellence have been created in each department. These centers conduct trainings and special lectures by experts which help the students and staff members to update their knowledge and skills. These centers have developed many products like Wind mill unit (ECE/EEE/ME), Automatic Sensor Tap (ECE), Mining MBLM (CSE/IT) and SOLAR TRACKING SYSTEM –SOLAR POWER CONTROLLED CHOPPER DRIVE (EEE). The R & D center of VBIT has collaborated with National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Gadanki to carry out a joint study on ionospheric delay of satellite signals measured by GPS receiver. The ECE Department of VBIT will also be a part of this study. A dual frequency receiver which operates in L1 and L2 bands (1.2 to 1.5 GHz frequency) with GPS antenna designed to operate at the required frequencies have been installed by NARL, Gadanki at VBIT for this purpose. The study will provide inputs applicability for GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) and satellite based navigation in India.
The R & D center and ECE department of VBIT jointly conducted a national symposium “Current trends in Atmospheric Research including Communication And Navigation aspects” (CARCAN-2012) during 21-22 December, 2012 in the college. It was supported by DST, MoES, ISRO and CSIR, Govt. of India. The conference was attended by many stalwarts in the field. Participants from different corners of the country attended CARCAN-2012 and made it a grand success.
Training, Placement, Career Guidance and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, commonly known as Training and Placement Cell caters to the development of students skills and ensure relations with industry for campus recruitment. Our unique efforts to train our students for various competitive examinations like GRE, TOEFL, and GATE are highly appreciated by all the stakeholders.
At VBIT, emphasis on student’s active participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like participation in activities of professional societies, sports and cultural events is equally given. With the sole motto of nurturing the leadership, we have established “Students Activity Centre” (SAC) which is an apex body of 16 forums. This systematic approach to encourage students’ activities and explore their talent brought many laureates at home. IEEE Student Branch of VBIT bagged Outstanding Student Branch Award during 09-10 in Hyderabad region and has been selected for the prestigious Darrel Chong Student Activity Award (Gold Prize) for 2011.This is an international award with a global recognition, which is awarded annually to IEEE student branches that constantly encourage and motivate students to continue, innovate and implement meaningful ideas.
The institute situated hardly a kilometer from the main road (NH163), transport is absolutely hassle free. The college operates 23 buses on its own, while the APSRTC operates one bus service to the college from Ghatkesar.
The cafeteria of VBIT is where students relax, have healthy food and refreshments along with lot of academic discussions. The facilities for sports and games at VBIT are laudable. Volleyball and Cricket teams of our Institute have won many Champion trophies at University and State levels. Since 2004, almost 75 students are selected in University teams for Inter University and Inter State tournaments.
